Komodo National Park with its live legend Komodo Dragon is one of the world’s most visited places in the last decade. Hundreds of thousands of people visit this UNESCO site each year. The number of visitors is increasing from time to time. Its popularity is not only come from the dragon but also from its underwater richness, wondrous landscapes, inhabitants’ unique cultures, and other natural wildlife such as Avifauna.
Its neighbor island, Flores, holds a high number of avian endemisms too. The reasonable choice to visit both during the trip to the Lesser Sunda, Indonesia.

Itinerary
Day 1: Denpasar – Labuan Bajo – Komodo (-/L/D)
Pick up at Komodo Airport of Labuan Bajo then drive to the harbor to get a boat to Komodo Island. Stay overnight on an AC-Cabin boat next to Loh Liang, Komodo Island.
Day 2: Birding in Komodo Island (B/L/D)
Trekking on Komodo start at 06.30 am and finish at 09.30 am. Back to the boat then move to Pink Beach, relax here for 2 hours during lunchtime. Enjoy swimming and snorkeling. After lunch back to Labuan Bajo. Spend the whole afternoon for birding in the south of Labuan Bajo with a main target Moluccan Scops-owl.
Dinner and stay overnight at Puri Sari Beach Hotel
Day 3: Labuan Bajo – Puarlolo – Ruteng (B-L-D)
Depart early in the morning (05.30 am) from the hotel, a 1-hour drive to Puarlolo forest. Birding here till midday. Continue drive to Lembor, where we stop for lunch. After lunch drive to Ruteng, enroute stop at Cancar to see one of the most famous landscapes on the island; the Spider web rice fields. Dinner at a local restaurant in Ruteng. After Dinner visit Ruteng Nature Reserve to find Flores Scops-owl.
Stay overnight at Ara Garden Inn
Day 4: Birding in Ruteng (B/L/D)
Morning birding at Golo Lusang forest till midday. Lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch visit a coffee plantation around the town and birding here till evening. Dinner at a local restaurant, stay overnight at Ara Garden Inn
Day 5: Ruteng – Labuan Bajo – Denpasar (B/L/-)
Depart early from the hotel and drive back to Labuan Bajo. Visit Potawangka forest to get the last chance of seeing Flores Hawk-eagle. Lunch at a local restaurant before transfer to the airport. Out
