Summary
The Lesser Sunda Islands in Indonesia are better known as the Nusa Tenggara islands. Which is separated as East Nusa Tenggara and West Nusa Tenggara. It lies between Bali on the west and the Banda Sea on the east, the Indian Ocean and Australia on the south, and Sulawesi on the north. Lesser Sunda is an important region in the biogeographic distribution as the transition region. We can meet the both Asiatic and Australasian species here on the islands. Lesser Sunda is also an important region where the islands provide country endemic species diversity for Indonesia.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar – Bali.
Relax at the hotel and warm up birding around Sanur with target shorebirds.
Day 2: Bali – Tambolaka
Today take a morning flight to Tambolaka airport in West Sumba. Birding around Tambolaka and Waikabubak.
Stay at Sinar Tambolaka Villa
Day 3: Tambolaka – Waingapu
Depart very early in the moring to start birding at Tanadaru dan Langgaliru.
Arrive in the late afternoon in Waingapu. Stay at Villa Morinda.
Day 4: Waingapu – Billa – Waingapu
Depart at 03:30 in the morning, by 4WD car drive to Tabundung. Birding at Billa forest, Matalawa NP till afternoon.
Back to Waingapu and arrive late afternoon. Stay at Villa Morinda
Day 5: Birding around Waingapu
Today birding around Waingapu to visit Yumbu Grassland, Laipori wetland, and Mengitimbi lake.
Stay at Villa Morinda
Day 6: Waingapu – Kupang – Rote
Take a morning flight to Kupang then by fast Ferry from Kupang to Rote.
Afternoon till evening boring around Oendui and Bolatena. Stay at Ricky Hotel, Baa
Day 7: Birding around Bolatena forest
Stay at Ricky Hotel.
Day 8: Rote – Kupang – So’e
Take a morning flight to Kupang. Arrive in Kupang, continue drive to So’e with a stop for birding at Camplong reserve.
Stay at Bahagia Hotel in Camplong
Day 8: Birding in Mutis
Depart early morning drive to Fatumnasi. Birding in Fatumnasi and Mutis reserve till afternoon then back to Soe.
Stay at Bahagia Hotel.
Day 9: So’e – Kupang.
Morning birding at Olenasi. After lunch drive to Bipolo. Birding here till Afternoon.
Stay overnight at On The Rock hotel, Kupang.
Day 10: Kupang – Alor
Take a morning flight to Alor. Arrive in Alor, drive to Apui. Birding around the area till evening.
Stay overnight in Kalabahi.
Day 11: Alor
Birding around Kalabahi and visiting Takpala traditional village.
Stay at Kalabahi.
Day 12: Alor – Kupang
Take a morning flight to Kupang, Arrive in Kupang, drive to Bipolo. Birding till afternoon.
Day 13: Kupang – So’a – Kisol.
Take a morning flight to Bajawa. Relax at the hot spring, the drive to Bajawa. Visit Bena traditional village, then drive to Kisol. Birding in Poco Ndeki till evening. Stay overnight in Borong.
Day 14: Borong – Ruteng
Morning birding at Poco Ndeki. After lunch drive to Ranamese. Birding here till evening.
Stay overnight in Ruteng.
Day 15: Birding in Ruteng
Birding at the Ruteng Nature reserve for the whole day.
Stay in Ruteng
Day 16: Ruteng – Labuan Bajo
Morning birding in Ruteng. After lunch drive to Labuan Bajo.
Stay overnight at Puri Sari Beach Hotel.
Day 17: Labuan Bajo – Komodo
Morning birding around Labuan Bajo before transfer to the harbor. Sail to Komodo island.
Stay on a boat near the Komodo island.
Day 18: Birding on Komodo island – Labuan bajo
Trekking and birding on the island of Komodo. On the midday sail to pink beach. Relaxing here with swimming and snorkeling. Afternoon back to Labuan Bajo.
Day 19: Labuan Bajo – Denpasar
Relax in the morning or birding around the shore before transferring to the airport.
Take a midday or afternoon flight to Bali. Out.
