Summary

Timor Island Timor is the island with the highest number of endemic birds in the Lesser Sunda. Birdwatching in Timor is relatively easier than other islands around. All birding sites are easily accessible. Besides the richness of its endemic species, West Timor has Kupang Bay, the most potential shorebird and seabird site in Nusa Tenggara. It is also part of the East Asian – Australasian Flyway.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival day – Birding at Kupang Bay

On arrival time in Kupang, driver and guide pick up you at El Tari international airport then take you to the hotel. After check-in at the hotel, drive to Bipolo (Kupang Bay part). Birding here till afternoon. End with owling to see Timor Boobook.

Back to Kupang, dinner and stay overnight at On The Rock hotel.

Day 2: Kupang – Birding at Camplong – So’e

Depart early in the morning, visit Camplong reserve for morning birding. Lunch at a local restaurant in Camplong.

After lunch drive to So’e

Dinner and stay overnight at Bahagia Hotel in So’e.

Day 3: Birding in The Gunung Mutis reserve

Depart at 04:30 from So’e, drive to Fatumnasi. Visit Mutis nature reserve for birding till afternoon.

Back to So’e, dinner and stay overnight at Bahagia Hotel.

Day 4: So’e – Birding at Olenasi – Kupang

Morning birding at Olenasi forest till midday. Back to So’e for lunch then drive to Kupang.

Dinner and stay overnight at On The Rock Hotel

Day 5: Transfer to the airport – Denpasar

Free program in the morning, then transfer out to the airport.
